We're looking for someone who wants to make their career here at Platform Housing Group, who has the potential to rise up; someone with experience in application management / application support, ideally within housing but other sectors will be considered with relevant experience.


If this sounds like you, and you'd love a role where you can make a real impact on the lives of our customers, we're looking for a Systems Analyst to join our Application Support team, with a strong focus on supporting and improving business-critical applications.


This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys troubleshooting, getting to the root cause of issues, working closely with the other members of the Application Support team, Service Desk, customers and suppliers, and making systems more reliable for end users. You'll play a key part in keeping our applications running smoothly day to day, while also contributing to service improvements, upgrades, and new integrations.


At its core, this is an application support role where you'll be expected to:

  • Provide 2nd/3rd line application support for a range of business systems
  • Investigate and resolve incidents and service requests, following them through to resolution
  • Carry out root cause analysis and help prevent repeat issues
  • Support application upgrades, patches, configuration changes and deployments
  • Work closely with the Application Support Team, Service Desk, customers, infrastructure teams, and external suppliers
  • Support integrations, data flows, and data quality initiatives
  • Maintain clear, up‑to‑date documentation, knowledge articles, and support guides
  • Participate in testing, early life support, and acceptance into service activities
  • Work to ITIL‑aligned processes, meeting SLAs and supporting continuous service improvement
  • Support out‑of‑hours maintenance where required (planned and occasional)

 

What are we looking for?

  • Experience in application support, systems support, or a similar role
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, especially in incident management and service restoration
  • Experience working with business applications in a production environment
  • Ability to investigate issues across applications, integrations, and data
  • Confident communicator who can work with technical teams, business users, and suppliers
  • Good understanding of ITIL practices (incident, request, escalation)
  • Comfortable working independently and managing competing priorities

 Desirable experience:

  • Housing experience preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies (e.g. Azure, Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Office 365)
  • Knowledge of SQL, data queries, integrations, APIs, or ETL processes
  • Experience supporting application upgrades, DR testing, or early life support
  • Familiarity with service improvement initiatives and SLA‑driven environments
  • ITIL v4 Foundation (or working towards)

 

 
While this role offers the flexibility of being home-based, occasional travel to Group offices and other locations, including Birmingham Business Park Solihull and Central Park, Worcester, is required.
